With 40 years immersed in textile design and helping women feel confident in what they wear, I’ve learned something profound: when you move your hands and your heart at the same time, healing happens.
I’ve worked with tools, dyes, factories, fashion runs — and I’ve fallen for the deliberate, quiet alchemy of slow‑stitching. I’ve seen women transform their energy, their mood, their sense of possibility — simply by allowing themselves to make.

Last week was kind of weird. I wanted purple polish for my pedicure and was offered a “nice neutral beige” as a “more appropriate” option. I got a haircut and went with pics of a curly stacked reverse bob perfect for my hair and was talked out of it…not sure why but I suspect the same reason.
Today I was having lunch with a friend and of course I chose a Steel Pony outfit and it dawned on me that I never feel judged by you. You never make me feel like I’m too old, or too heavy, or not attractive enough to wear your clothing. This means a lot to me now because my shape is changing dramatically because of illness and medication and it’s become difficult for me to feel good about myself. Special, that’s how I feel whenever I wear my Steel Pony clothes. I’ve been retired for almost 10 years, and with my retirement came the freedom to wear whatever I want wherever I go.
